Mittie Correll

Mittie Hornsby Correll, 91, of Belmont passed away April 12, 2021 at the Robin Johnson Hospice House in Dallas.  She was born on April 16, 1929 to the late Modock and Zilla Langford Hornsby.  She is also preceded in death by her husband, Jess C. Correll and her sister, Frances Hinson of Camden, SC.  Mittie was a longtime member of Southpoint Baptist Church and also attended Southpoint Freewill Baptist Church.  She was an avid supporter of Samaritan's Purse contributing in her lifetime in excess of over 2000 boxes.  She worked at Pharr Yarn for over 50 years retiring at the age of 75.  She loved to travel and often traveled with her sister, Frances.  She also enjoyed working puzzles.  Mittie was loved and will be missed by her loving family.

Survivors include her son, James Leroy Correll of Belmont; daughters, Alice Franks and husband Charles of Belmont and Peggy Hall and husband Jerry of Charlotte; sister, Jewel Ogle of Concord; grandchildren, Larry, Corky, Jason, Michael, and Jessica; 10 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 16, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Southpoint Freewill Baptist Church with Pastors Michael Byrd and Mike Phillips officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.  Interment will follow immediately at Hillcrest Gardens, Mt. Holly.
