Mildred Poindexter

Mildred Rosie Annie Poindexter, 89, of Gastonia passed away April 13, 2021 at her residence.  She was born on October 3, 1931 to the late William and Vegie Messer McAlister.  She is also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Edward Poindexter; son, Tommy Peeler; daughter, Francis Cromer; brothers, Grady McAlister, Leroy McAlister, Bufort McAlister, and Archie McAlister; sisters, Georgia Mae Mathis and Jessie Lee Mathis; and grandson, Jeromy Jenkins.  Mildred was a previous member at Lowell Church of God.  She enjoyed the mountains, crocheting, making baby blankets for all her grandchildren, and quilting.

Survivors include her son, David Peeler and wife Susan; daughter, Denise Jenkins and husband Craig; 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Friday, April 16, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Gaston Memorial Park with Pastor Dennis Philbeck officiating.
