George "Rob" "PawPaw" Belcher

George Robert Belcher "Rob" PawPaw", 58, of Belmont passed away March 26, 2021 at his residence.  He was born on October 29, 1962 to Joann Trotter and the late George Robert Belcher Sr..  He is also preceded in death by his wife, Martha Belcher.  Rob was a star football player for East Gaston High School.  He loved spending time with his grandchildren, tinkering with things, and 4-wheeling.  He served with Mt. Holly and South Point Life Saving Crew.  Rob will be remembered as a patient Dad and a great PawPaw.

In addition to his mother, Rob is survived by his daughters, Samantha and Heather Belcher; brothers, Terry and Steve Belcher; sisters, Lorna Stevens, Tina Goins, and Crystal Black; granddaughter, Hazel-Gene Belcher (Ady Alejo).

A Memorial service will be held on Monday, March 29, 2021 at 5:30 p.m. at New Faith Baptist Church, 110 Reese St., Gastonia, NC 28056 with Revs. Michael and Brian Spargo officiating.
