Gabriel Payne

GABRIEL ISSAC PAYNE of Mount Holly, NC, went home to be with Jesus and reunited with his loved ones including his Uncle Chris, on April 21, 2021. He was 17. Gabriel was born on January, 5, 2004, in Lawrence MA, brought home to be raised in Boston, Massachusetts. Gabriel is survived by his Mother, Bernadette Payne, his older sister, Christina Payne and his younger sister, Theresa Payne, his 2 year old Nephew, Charlie Payne, his Nana, Loretta Payne and Grampa, Robert Payne, his two Aunts, Dory Payne and Patricia Payne, his little cousin, Ava Schilling, his Uncle, Michael Payne and his stepfather, Carlos Almeyda, and his Cat, Slinky.

We will have a celebration of life for Gabriel’s beautiful 17 years on earth because he wouldn’t want us to be sad, he’d want us to be happy for him and live our lives like he wanted to do. “If I ever die please don’t cry.” GSpizz-Gabriel Payne

Gabriel had a great love for animals and nature. He was the best son a mother could wish for. The most loving brother, his younger sister looked up to him and the wisdom he shared. His older sister was his best friend Gabriel was a bright soul who was always well-known in many communities and created friends quickly. He loved playing video games with his friends. Gabriel’s positive attitude and caring personality made him stick out in school as well as in his community wherever he lived. Gabriel was the funniest person you could ever meet, it didn’t matter if you were sad or mad he would always make you laugh or smile. His smile was infectious, it lit up a room. Gabriel was always there for his friends and family. He was an extremely sensitive soul and not afraid to show it. He cared for others and put aside his own hurt and pain in order to fully be there for others. He would’ve ran through a fire for anybody.

Gabe worked at Waffle House for a month and they already loved him there, he said he wanted to save all his tips and checks. Gabriel was very skilled in the area of carpentry. Gabe had a love and passion for the arts. He was an inspiring rap artist who has written and created many R&B songs on SoundCloud. Gabe had a love for fashion and a very good sense of style and he loved to dress to impress. He was working on songs with his friends. Someone from a radio station heard one of his songs while passing by and has offered to play it on the radio. Listen to his true words and voice again. A visitation will be held on Friday, May 7, 2021, from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M., at Benson Funeral and Cremation Service of Mount Holly. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021, 1:00 P.M. at Evergreen "A Quiet Place" in Belmont.

Michael Ward, Joseph Somerall, Alijah Brown, Carlos Almeyda, Nasir Williams, William Singleton, Jaiden Strickland, Gage Strickland, and Jarrod Arrowood will serve as pallbearers.
