Alicia Rector

Alicia Michelle Tompkins Rector, 37, of Charlotte passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at Atrium Health Charlotte.  She was born in Asheville, NC on April 29, 1983 to Randall Tompkins and Carolyn Mogridge Tompkins.  She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Corwin and Stella Bow Tompkins; maternal grandparents, John Clyde and Frances Louise Whitehead Mogridge; mother and father in law, Harold Loren Rector and Betty Frances Rector; and brother in law, Harold Wayne Rector.  Alicia loved the Lord and accepted Christ into her life as her Savior.  She had a very kind and tender heart for everyone; she never met a stranger.  She loved her family and had an awesome love for her sister and nieces.  She liked to travel; especially to the beach and enjoyed tropical vacations.  She loved seeing new attractions, lighthouses, The Biltmore Estate, Botanical Gardens, and Christmas lights.  She always liked to try new things; loved to draw, enjoyed camping, hiking, and walking.  She also enjoyed socializing with family and friends and she really loved cats; especially her pet cat, "Asher Boo."  Alicia was an employee at Horizon Eye Care in Charlotte for the past 10 years.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, survivors include her husband, Jonathan Andrew Rector; stepdaughter, Autumn Marie Rector; sister, Devina Renee Parker and husband Daniel, nieces, Lydia, Shayleigh, and Isabella Parker; brothers in law, Randolf Arthur Jones, Edward Jones, and James G. Rector; and sister in law, Jennifer Ethel Shelton.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Benson Funeral & Cremation Services, Mt. Holly with Daniel Parker officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.  Entombment will immediately follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Belmont.
